God is faithful and good. I am so amazed at Gods provision in my life. The first week of school was very hard but I made it through. My students are in the third grade and have a lot of energy and creativity. They love to play Gameboy and run around in class. They speak English well but I still have to go slow for some. It is hard to slow down my thinking pattern. On Wednesday I thought I was going to quit. My students were so bad and disobedient but we are all still getting to know each other and it will take some time to set up strong rules and expectations. They are all egger to learn and this makes it easy for me. I really enjoy being with them all day but it will be nice when it is only half day in September.
The second week has been a lot better. I spent a whole day planning on Sunday and had things organized for the week. This really helps me have very little anxiety. I have a very helpful Chinese teacher in the classroom who helps with classroom management, cleaning, feeding the students, and organizing their weekly homework. Her name is Viola. Please pray that I could share my faith with her. It is so nice to have Katie Jo at the same school as me. She came out the same time as I did and we trained in Orange County together. We get to lesson plan together and our classes are next to each others. God is good. Are school is going on a field trip Friday to a place called the "Flying Cow." It is like a petting zoo. Please pray for our traveling safety and sanity.
My adjustment here in Taiwan has been easy. And I have enjoyed the hard times because it makes me aware of how blessed I really am and that my strength comes from God alone. It is such a great environment that the LORD has placed me in. Everyone is eager to serve the Lord and we are all have the same occupation. At my apartment we have many guest stay over during the weekends. These are some really solid guys that God has blessed me with. It is the collage dorm life I never got to experience living at home during college. We have planned a great Birthday Celebration for Erin and I (Erin is teaching in a city an hour away from Taichung and she trained with us in Orange County as well). Thank God for the tight family that is beginning to develop.
Banner Church is wonderful. It really does remind of RockHarbor. It is full of life and love. The people are eager to worship God and move with the Holy Spirit's guidance. I have had a couple opportunity to sit and listen to Pastor Samuel's heart towards his church and begin to see Gods plan for Banner Church. I believe it will be a great tool in sending the the Good News of Jesus into the land of China and eventually into the Middle East. What an honor to serve God and see his will begin to take shape in Taiwan. We are also preparing for the start the English Service. Please pray that
God continues to reveal to the leader His plan for this ministry and that God continues to build an unity amongst the foreigners.
This is it for now. If you have any questions or encouragement please feel free to fill up my inbox. God Bless

Hi Kevin,
My MS Outlook reminded me of your birthday (25??) when I got back from Africa... So I'm sorry for the delay, but hope it was great. Thanks also for your updates, it sounds like you are adjusting well and that the Lord is directing your steps and ministry.
Africa was fantastic and our team of 15 had a great time, with some awesome ministry while we were there.
Take care,
-Steve Philp
Great pics! Is that Viola on the far left? Or is it a very large 3rd grader? ha
Sorry you're sick...is it the Asian flu? ha
I'll be praying for your requests.
In His Strength,
Karen Harrison (friend of your folks in their couple's bible study.)
